About SFI Foundation

The SFI Foundation (originally the SEMA Foundation, Inc.) was established in 1978 as a nonprofit organization to develop and administer quality assurance programs for the motorsports aftermarket. SFI specifications cover safety equipment used across drag racing, auto racing, boat racing, tractor pulling, and more.

Each specification number corresponds to a specific type of racing equipment — from driver suits and helmets to roll cages, fuel cells, supercharger restraints, and turbochargers. Our ML model can identify the correct specification from a plain-text description of any part.
